Could this be diabetes? Is it worth it to go get checked?

What you describe actually sounds like textbook thyroid problems. Diabetes would definately be in the differential diagnosis list, but thyroid problems would be at the top of the list. I would definately get it worked up. Both can be easily identified through simple blood tests.
