Why is it that women are staunchly intolerant of any interaction with me and never want to be my friend?

Maybe you are creating a self fulfilling prophecy. You expect women not to pay you any attention, so subconsciously you repel them, and the pattern keeps repeating. People are generally excellent at reading body language (whether they realise it or not) and your false, overly friendly persona (that isn't really you) makes people suspicious and un trusting. Just be yourself. Maybe find places where like minded people are, so you have things in common. I'm a little socially awkward myself. I'm told I come across as a little stoic and uninterested, but I'm not, but it does make people feel uncomfortable.
